Hydrocarbon / VOC Vapour Protection

Hydrocarbons are organic compounds that consist entirely of hydrogen and carbon atoms and at normal temperatures exist in the liquid and vapour phases. They are found in many places, including crude oil, petrol, diesel and kerosene.

Methane by definition is a hydrocarbon but as it exists under normal conditions as a gas it is considered separately together with carbon dioxide the two main bulk gases produced by waste degradation.

Volatile Organic Compounds are a much larger group of organic chemicals all of which evaporate easily at room temperature and includes many hydrocarbons. Common examples are tetrachloroethylene, formaldehyde and ethylene glycol. Hydrocarbons and VOCs are often hazardous to health at extremely low concentrations.

Working in line with Ciria c 748 and Ciria c 745 our team of directly employed NVQ qualified installers install strong, robust and tested barriers and ventilations systems where appropriate.
